BRICs or South East Asia?
Microsoft corporation which is well known for its dominant software system
(Microsoft windows operating system) now tries to dominate all the countries’ market. It seems to reflect one of Bill Gates' key visions for the company; "to get a workstation running our software onto every desk and eventually in every home". The outgoing Microsoft executive chairman went Asia for a business trip. He is so busy meeting heads of each South East Asia nation and doing business with them. During the Gates trip, Microsoft announced several new partnerships with Asian governments and companies to develop e-government services as well as make computing with Microsoft software less expensive for people in developing countries.
Target a star market
- There are four market types in accordance with BCG(Boston Consulting Group) matrix. These are Cow, dog, Question mark, and star. It is very important to know a status of markets when we do business. Because that way we can cope with problems well if we have and at the same time innovate or develop the company so that it could grow much in the future. At this point, Microsoft is doing so well by actively expanding its market to east Asia countries. One of the biggest purposes of business is to make a large profit out of what we have now. Therefore, target the “STAR”.
Target a boss(Heads)
- Everything consists of its subordinates complexly. Therefore, when we
do business in the business world, we cannot deal with everything. We might not have that much time and also we might not have that much labor to do that. There is efficient and effective solution for these problem; dealing with heads. In every group or society, there are organizations which connect between upper class and lower class. If we negotiate with the heads and get a good deal out of it, it’s pretty much set. At this point, Microsoft is doing so well by working with internet café owners.
Connection with local area community
- We cannot live a live for ourselves. We live together because we are so we
ak ant it’s more convenient. Like there is saying “Two heads are better than one.”, when it comes to business, it is easier and efficient if we have connection with others that are related to the business. In case of Microsoft Corp., having connection with University around the company is so beneficial factor that generated lots of company profits. So, do not try to do by yourself, just look around and try to find accompanies and be smart. It will bring you a lot more profits than struggle on your own. -
